Welcome to UOW College. Here you'll find everything you need to know about getting started with your studies, from enrolling in your course and attending orientation, to all the tools and tips to help you succeed.

Your orientation sessions will be delivered ONLINE. We'll also have an optional social event on-campus to get you familiar with the UOW campus.

At your orientation sessions, you will receive important information about your course, learn about the various online systems, services and support available to you. There will be introductory course-related workshops which are optional, Ask for Help Sessions and mini workshops on student administrative online systems and services.

We encourage you to explore the Transition for Success pages of this website to help you transition into UOW College and get the best possible start in your first session.

You must be registered to attend the orientation sessions.

Getting Started Checklist

Before Orientation

The information on this site will help you understand the process, systems, key contacts and support that you will receive while studying at UOW College.

You can undertake the new student enrollment process if you are ready to enrol. Before you do this, we encourage you to read the Enrolment Support page.

Our team will deliver Orientation sessions ONLINE to help get you started. Some of these are compulsory others are not. For the best success, we encourage you to attend as many as possible. To gain access, you need to register for each session.

As you get closer to the start of the session, you may need to enrol in classes for each of your subjects. These classes could be tutorials, seminars, practicals, workshops, computer labs or studios. The date and time class enrolment are open is specific to each subject but is usually just before or during orientation week.

Student Online Services (SOLS) is a vital online tool that you will use to self-manage your enrolment. Use the username and password that you created when you enrolled to access SOLS. It's also one of the key ways the University will communicate with you through 'SOLSMail' messages. It’s a good idea to check your SOLSMail regularly.

Your UOWmail account (username@uowmail.edu.au) is the primary way you'll communicate with the University by email. It’s important to check your UOWmail regularly so you don’t miss out on any important information. Set up your UOWmail account on your phone so you can easily access your emails and receive notifications. With UOWMail you can also download the entire Microsoft Office suite for free on up to five personal devices and store heaps of your data on OneDrive.

During Orientation Week

As part of your orientation to UOW College, you will be invited to a session to welcome you to UOW and provide important information on your course. This is a great opportunity to meet your classmates and ask any questions you have about starting your studies.

You will be required to register for the orientation sessions.

If you have not already, ensure you undertake the new student enrolment process. If you are not comfortable with the process and need assistance or are restricted from completing due to documents, contact our friendly student services team.

Remember, you may have to enrol in classes for each of your subjects. Make sure you are at a computer at the exact time enrolments open to increase your chances of securing your preferred class times.

There are some key session dates you should be aware of, like when classes are on, when fees are due, and when exams are running. It is important to be aware that some UOW College subjects are delivered in UOW sessions, so the dates might be slightly different.

Our full range of academic and personal services and support are available online. Access live study support, accessibility units, graduate options, careers counsellors, and many more.
